Isabelline Wheatear (P.Freestone)

Godrevy – ISABELLINE WHEATEAR found at Godrevy Point at 1000hrs but  then lost to view. Relocated at 1320hrs but then lost to view. Eventually showed well for the remaineder of the afternoon. This is only the second record for the county, the previous one on The Lizard in 1996 was seen by only a few visiting birders, so this bird was a very welcome addition for most Cornish listers.  (P.Freestone, R. The Lizard – possible PADDYFIELD WARBLER south east of Lizard village between Lighthouse Road & Housel Bay by pond this afternoon. Park in village, walk south along Lighthouse Road for 1/4ml, take track east for 200yds then left on footpath

RameRED BREASTED FLYCATCHER at Penlee Point 200yds east of car park at 10:45. MONTAGU’S HARRIER (ringtail) at Penlee Point flew south over fields by Military Road at 11:30. Yellow-browed Warbler near church opp Rame House at 12:45

St Just – No Sign of Bonelli’s Warbler sp at Kenidjack Valley but WRYNECK by wood pile but elusive

HayleLittle Stint (3) and Curlew Sandpiper at Hayle Estuary RSPB at Carnsew Basin

Stithians – Garganey at Stithians Reservoir

MarazionGarganey at Marazion Marsh RSPB at east end viewable from standing stone mid afternoon, still present this evening. Reported Lesser Yellowlegs was a Greenshank

The Lizard – **PADDYFIELD WARBLER** still on east side of Lizard village at Church cove. Use car park then walk towards sea, take footpath north to view small quarry 100yards north of bottom of valley. Also RED-BACKED SHRIKE, on right by small pond 200 yards down footpath to Housel Bay from road from Lizard Village to Southerly Point – showing well. WOOD WARBLER in gardens at The Lizard (Thanks D.Collins). Redstart, on edge of field 300 yards south of Lizard village right hand side of road to Southerly Point and (2) at 1330hrs (Thank Dr J.Lander). Also Unconfirmed report of Olive-backed Pipit at Church Cove and Yellow-browed Warbler at Lizard Point at Pistil Meadow and Yellow-browed Warbler in copse in car park at Church Cove.

Sennen*GLOSSY IBIS* (4 1w) still in wet field just east of B3315 until 1110hrs then flew off north. Also *RED-THROATED PIPIT* briefly, heard only. Snow Bunting flew north over Trevorian Farm late morning, no sign of Hooded Crow

Pendeen*OLIVE-BACKED PIPIT* still bt coastal footpath 1/2ml west of coastguard cottages in gorse before small stream mid afternoon. (Thanks B.Rankine) Also Balearic Shearwater and Great Skua past Pendeen Watch and ‘Continental’ Coal Tit in Church Yard.

The Lizard**PADDYFIELD WARBLER** still on east side of Lizard village at Church cove at 1017hrs. Use car park then walk towards sea, take footpath north to view small quarry 100yards north of bottom of valley. ORTOLAN BUNTING (1w) still at The Lizard midway between Lizard and Lighthouse in stubble field west of Lighthouse Road. RED-BACKED SHRIKE (juv) still from footpath in valley to House Bay SW.705.120. Yellow-browed Warbler (2), 1 in Lizard Village and 1 at Pistil Meadow still.no sign of probable Tawny Pipit at Lizard Head in stubble field

Pendeen *OLIVE-BACKED PIPIT* still by coastal path 1/2 mile west of coastguard cottages this afternoon tho mobile. Balearic Shearwater (44), Sooty Shearwater (9) and Great Skua (5) past Pendeen late afternoon.

HelstonGREAT WHITE EGRET still a Loe Pool at north end viewable from east bank at Degibna at 1140hrs

NanquidnoRED-BREASTED FLYCATCHER in Nanquidno Valley at Nanjulian Farm at 1100hrs. Also Yellow-browed Warbler and Pied Flycatcher (2)

St JustRedstart (1w male) still at Tregeseal still by bridge at 1245hrs. Yellow-browed Warbler in trees by road up valley at 1300hrs. Yellow-browed Warbler in Cot Valley this afternoon still.

The Lizard**PADDYFIELD WARBLER** still on east side of Lizard village at Church cove early morning, tho elusive. Also Yellow-browed Warbler and Pied Flycatcher. Use car park then walk towards sea, take footpath north to view small quarry 100yards north of bottom of valley. probable *TAWNY PIPIT* at Old Lizard Head in stubble field. ORTOLAN BUNTING at Housel Bay in stubble field near bale viewable from footpath at 1300hrs, still late afternoon. Also RED-BACKED SHRIKE (1w) still. Yellow-browed Warbler at Pistil Meadow at 1650hrs

Pendeen*OLIVE-BACKED PIPIT* still by coastal footpath 1/2 mile west of coastguard cottages on slope below wall in bracken by gate at 1032hrs, still present this afternoon.  Also Whinchat (2) and Pied Flycatcher

Nanquidno – probable *OLIVE-BACKED PIPIT* flew north from juncus in valley at 1150hrs. WRYNECK in bracken by track to Gurland Farm briefly at 1345hrs

Sennen*GLOSSY IBIS* still near Trevorian Pool/Brew farm tho mobile. Also HOODED CROW and Hooded Crow x Carrion Crow hybrid
