Marazion – Siberian Chiffchaff at RSPB Marazion Marsh. Also Velvet Scoter offshore

Falmouth Iceland Gull (1cy) at Swanpool on rocks on west side. Also Yellow-browed Warbler at University on Exeter Campus, Penryn. Also Cetti’s Warbler still at Swanpool and Yellow-browed Warbler in gardens on west side (D.Chaney)

Mounts Bay Pomarine Skua (2) viewed from Jubilee pool this morning. No sign of adult Pacific Diver

 

Sunday 20th November 2016 Cornwall Bird Sightings

Lizard Point – possible PACIFIC DIVER flew past with two BT Divers

Point Dalmatian Pelican at Restronguet Creek from Point Quay then seen to fly off high to west.

Botallack – presumed Dalmatian Pelican flew over Bottallack in direction of Pendeen.

Hayle – Green-winged Teal still at Hayle Estuary RSPB. Also Water Pipit, Spoonbill (2) and Yellow-legged Gull (ad) (Thanks L.Langley)

The Lizard Great Grey Shrike at Windmill Farm NR, in car park at 1130-1150hrs. Also Hen Harrier (2) and Marsh Harrier (1) (CBWPS).

Newquay – American Wigeon (drk) still at Gannel Estuary. Also Cattle Egret with Little Egrets in Penpol Creek.

Padstow – juvenile Glaucous Gull at Porthscothan Bay

Falmouth – Black Guillemot still off Swanpool. Glaucous Gull (2w) flew in off sea at Stack Point early morning. Also Blackcap (3), Whitethroat (2), Chiffchaff (5), Skylark and Kestrel (2) at golf course (Thanks J.Drage Hubert)

St Just – Red Kite flew over Tregeseal (Thanks S.Williams). Siberian Chiffchaff at Kenidjack Valley by sewage works

Zennor - Red Kite flew over Eagles Nest towards St Ives at 1330hrs. Whitethroat (2) and House Martin (3) also at Eagles Nest (Thanks J.St Ledger)

WadebridgeRedstart at Walmsley Sanctuary

The Lizard - Cuckoo (2), Grasshopper Warbler, Sedge Warbler (7), Whitethroat (4), Wheatear (7) and Blackcap (4) at Windmill Farm (cbwps)

Sennen - Yellow Wagtail (3) and White Wagtail in field opposite quarry. (cbwps)

St IvesRing Ouzel (9) at Buttermilk Hill, (8. 4m+4f) in field on lower slopes on Towednack side viewable from rocks at top of hill. (c.SW486389) and (1f) feeding on slop of hill towards Trevalgan Hill, group of 8 then flew NW out to sea at 1940hrs.
