Thursday 20th September 2007 - Scilly Bird Report

Todays Birding highlights on the Isles of Scilly include:

St Mary’s - yesterdays Pectoral Sandpiper was unfortunately taken by a Peregrine in the evening! SPOTTED SANDPIPER managed to survive and showing well today still on Porth Hellick Pool. Buff-breasted Sandpiper again on Golf Course at 12.30hrs. Pectoral Sandpiper (juv) in Poth Hellick Bay at 17.00hrs. (another or did it escape!?)

Tresco - CITRINE WAGTAIL (1st wint) still in Horse paddock by Abbey Drive. Pintail (fem) on Great Pool.

St Agnes - Ortolan Bunting on east side of Wingletang Down at 15.15hrs. Common Rosefinch reported near Gugh Bar but no sign at 15.30.
