Wednesday 23rd January 2008 – Cornwall Bird Reports
Birds reported on previous days and still in that location today include CATTLE EGRETS (2) seen flying towards Hay Farm, Wadebridge and 5 birds still at Drift near Treganhoe Farm; HUME’S LEAF WARBLER still at Tehidy Country Park, Camborne; Black-necked Grebes at Newlyn Harbour and Avocet at Hayle Estuary. Med Gulls were at Gillynvase Beach and Swanpool, Falmouth, Hayle Estuary. Elsewhere, birds of note were:
Hayle Estuary – GLAUCOUS GULL (juv) from causeway this afternoon.
Stithians Reservoir – Bittern reported again today at 16.40hrs on southern cutoff. Also Goosander (5) on reservoir. (thanks S.Taylor)
Newlyn – ICELAND GULL (2 juvs) reported this afternoon
