Todays birding highlights in Cornwall include:
Pendeen – *GREENISH WARBLER* still on road to Pendeen Watch in Sycamores at entrance to Calartha Farm. The bird calls infrequently and seems to favour the tree in the middle of the copse of sycamores. It also frequents the nearby gardens. Also Lesser Whitethroat in sycamores.
The Lizard – Dotterel (2 juv) on cliff top at Soap Cove, Kynance. Also 9 Choughs in flock touring Kynance and Lizard during afternoon. (Thanks B.Hawker)
Sennen – CORNCRAKE flushed from field by Trevorian Pool at 1415hrs.
Wadebridge – Little Stint (2) on river near Town Bridge then flew toward Dinham Flats
Porthgwarra – WRYNECK still south of Roskestal Farm along road near sallow clump. Firecrest by toilet block this morning.
Lands End – WRYNECK again north of boarded up white house. ROSE-COLOURED STARLING (juv) on wire north of complex at 1900-1915hrs. (probably same birdÂ seen earlierÂ at St Levan)
Polgigga – ROSE-COLOURED STARLING (ad) again at Treen at 19.05hrs then flew to roost. Also Turtle Dove. BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER still in fields between Higher Bosistow and Ardensawah Farms.
Hayle – Pink-footed Goose at Copperhouse Creek at 0800hrs. Also Snow Goose (of unknown origin).
Hayle Estuary – Knot (4), Bar-tailed Godwit (4) and Black-tailed Godwit at high tide this morning. Pink-footed Goose at 10.00hrs (Thanks C.Yates)
Nanjizal – HONEY BUZZARD over valley this morning.
