Tuesday 25th September 2007 – Bird Reports

Todays Birding and Seawatching highlights in Cornwall include:

Hayle EstuaryRed-necked Phalarope reported at 17.00hrs on Ryan’s Field, tho mobile. NOTE: Spring high tide tomorrow. RSPB are keeping water from entering Ryan’s field so waders have somewhere to roost. Also Arctic Tern (juv) and Gannet (ad) from Old Quay house Car Park (thanks M.Halliday)

St Ives Island -  Sabines Gull (3 juvs), Leach’s Petrel (5), Balearic Sh’water (6), Grey Phalarope (4),  Red-necked Grebe (1). Plus Black Guillemot, Sooty Sh’water (1), Bonxie (5)(thanks H.Cook)

Sennen Cove Pom Skua past this morning, Bonxie (2), Arctic Skua (2), Sooty Sh’water (1).

AntonyOsprey (1), Spoonbill (1), Arctic Tern (2) (Thanks C.Buckland) BLACK KITE again at 17.30hrs tho distant.
