Tuesday 20th January 2009 Cornwall Bird Reports

UPDATES: The Snowy Owl has not been seen for two days now, although the weather was pretty inclement on Sunday, it was fine yesterday so the bird may have moved on. There was also no sign of any Cattle Egrets at Polgigga and it appears the male King Eider off St Austell may have been a one day bird as it was not seen at all today.

Newquay*CATTLE EGRET* (3) at Gannel Estuary in Penpol Creek at dusk.

PendeenIceland Gull (1w) flew past Pendeen Watch this morning. Also Balearic Shearwater (2) and Manx Shearwater (2).

Falmouth Glaucous Gull on roof opposite pub at Ponsanooth early morning. Black Redstart still on beach at Swanpool and Med Gull on car park at 11.00hrs (Thanks P.Richards)

LandulphSpoonbill (2) at Landulph mid morning.

Marazion Bittern again at Long Rock pool before flying to main marsh. Water Pipit still on beach.

Helston Grey Phalarope (4) in Gunwalloe fishing Cove

PortscathoGrey Phalarope south of Porthscato off Towan Beach this morning.

DavidstowSnow Bunting (2) still on airfield

PenzanceBN Grebe still in Sandy Cove and GN Diver (2).
