Tuesday 18th October 2016 Cornwall Bird Sightings

Cape Cornwall – probable Black-browed Albatross (imm) flew south past Cape Cornwall at 0800hrs (Thanks A.Collins).  Balearic Shearwater (4), Great Skua (11),  Arctic Skua (8) and Sooty Shearwater (3) flew past Cape Cornwall

Rock – Dalmatian Pelican still on estuary at Porthilly this morning, Red-crested Pochard (2) viewed at back of Pinkson Creek at 1030hrs

St Agnes – Short-toed Lark still at St Agnes Head in car park west of New Downs. Sooty Shearwater (2) flew south past. Dusky Warbler still at Chapel Porth tho elusive. From car park walk up valley for 300yrds and view in scrub between path and mining wheel (SW707518.)

PendeenSabine’s Gull (juv) flew past Pendeen Watch at 1015hrs. Also Balearic Shearwater (63), Pomarine Skua (3), Arctic Skua (15), Great Skua (19).  Also Sabine’s Gull past at 1530hrs. Yellow-browed Warbler in valley north of Higher Bojewyan (CBWPS)

St IvesBalearic Shearwater (2), Grey Phalarope (2), BT Diver and GN Diver (7) flew past St Ives Island.

Land’s End  Snow Bunting (2. male+fem) in car park at grassy end at 0830hrs. Also Chough (11)

Godrevy Snow Bunting (4) at Godrevy Head. Also Pink-footed Goose on island at St Gothian Sands NR

 St JustYellow-browed Warbler (2) at Kenidjack Valley
