Thursday 7th August 2008 - Cornwall Bird Reports

Todays birdwatching highlights in Cornwall include:

Wadebridge - *SPOTTED SANDPIPER* (sum plum) still (20.00hrs)at Camel Estuary west of B3314 bridge at Amble Dam sluice viewed from CBWPS Burniere hide and showing well along the creeks edge feeding with Common Sandpiper (16), Green Sandpiper (2), Ringed Plover (30), Dunlin (74), Black-tailed Godwit (6) and Knot. Also this evening at Walmsley Sanctuary Green Sandpipers (13), Black-tailed Godwits (5), Little Grebe (6), Snipe (5), Barn Owl and Yellow Wagtail over. (Thanks D.Julian)

Stithians - Wood Sandpiper (1), Common Sandpiper (7), Dunlin (1), Snipe (1), Little Egret (1) and Great Spotted Woodpecker on feeder from Southern hide. (Thanks S.Taylor et al)

Hayle Estuary - Sandwich Tern (5), Black-tailed Godwit (17). Also mixed wader flock (200+) of mainly Dunlin with Sanderling, Turnstone and Ringed Plover. (Thanks J.H.Johns) Wood Sandpiper on Ryans Field at 10.15hrs (Thanks J.Brown)
