Hi, Rory Goodall and I were walking from Land’s End Hotel along B3315 towards Polgigga and saw a slim falcon hovering and diving into a field to the left of the road before Trevescan at about 6pm. Rory knows birds and volunteers for English Heritage and I am ignorant but like raptors. It looked a little different. It was silhouetted against a bright blue sky and saw brownish colours. The tips of the tail feathers were edged black. Took two inconclusive compact camera pictures and showed them to birders further along the road we met, who were from Dorset and 4 more at Polgigga also went to have a look from where we came. Good luck and I hope that Amur falcon is the bird we saw.
