Thursday 26th August 2010 Cornwall Bird Reports

Pendeen - probable **SHORT-TAILED SHEARWATER** reportedly flew west past Pendeen watch at 1800hrs. Also  Balearic Shearwater (18), Sooty Shearwater (2), Arctic Skua (12), Great Skua (11) and Manx Shearwater (100+) past Pendeen between first light and midday

NanjizalRED-BACKED SHRIKE (juv) on south side of valley in weedy field 200yrds west of Faraway Cottage

Porthgwarra - MONTAGU’S HARRIER (juv) at Hella Point at 1530hrs. Also Osprey flew out to sea

Pendeen - Long-tailed Skua (juv) flew past Pendeen Watch at 0720hrs. Also Balearic Shearwater (12), Arctic Skua (3), Great Skua (3) and Manx Shearwater (50+).

StithiansBlack-tailed Godwit and Ringed Plover (7) from Stuart Hutchings hide at 0700hrs this morning. Also Wood Sandpiper and Green Sandpiper at Golden Lion Cutoff, Common Sandpiper (4) at Northern end of reservoir and Green Sandpiper and Common Sandpiper (2) from Stuart Hutchings Hide this evening (Thanks S.Taylor)

Sennen - Dotterel (juv) in field just west of Trevorian Pool this afternoon. Access of A30 just north of Sennen School along Trevear road

Crows-an-WraBarn Owl north of A30 at 1615hrs
