Sunday 9th December 2007 – Cornwall Bird Reports

Todays Birding highlights in Cornwall include:

A morning of extreme N/NW winds occasionally reaching gale force, with regular heavy showers

Crows-an-Wra*CATTLE EGRET* (6) reported SSW of Crows-an-Wra at Rospannel.

AntonyBT Diver offshore at Whacker Quay (thanks B.Taggart)

Rame Head Woodcock flushed from beside coast path east of Rame Head (thanks B.Taggart)

Drift/Sancreed*CATTLE EGRET* (2) again in field off entrance to Treganhoe Farm this morning. Med Gull (2w) at Drift Reservoir.

Carbis BayLittle Auk (1) still at east end of beach plus BT Diver.

St Ives Island – seawatching from the island today so far has produced Iceland Gull (juv) flew east, Purple Sandpiper (6), Little Gull (ad), Pom Skua (1), Balearic Sh’water (1), Great Skua (1)

PendeenBalearic Sh’water (2), Manx Sh’water (1), Great Skua (3) past Pendeen Watch this morning.
