Todays Birding highlights in Cornwall include:
Penzance - *CATTLE EGRET* (10+) still near Newmill at Boscreege Farm
Lands End - WOODCHAT SHRIKE still on hedges and wires between Trinity Cottages and Sennen Post Office, viewed from A30. Also Short-eared Owl over Treeve Common and Wheatear (35), Sedge Warbler (10+) and Swift (2)
Short-eared Owl (M.Halliday) and Woodchat Shrike (J.Rowe) at Lands End today.
Drift - *CATTLE EGRET* (15) again in fields north of drift reservoir and at Treganhoe Farm
Cot Valley - *BEE-EATER* (3) this afternoon on wires by Cot Youth Hostel until 17.35hrs when flew high to NE.
Hayle Estuary - RING-BILLED GULL still this afternoon on main estuary from causeway (Thanks M.Halliday)
St Just - Probable RED-BACKED SHRIKE (male) 2mls east of Lands End Airport at Bartine Castle. SW.397.295 (Thanks A.Morse)
Helston - WOODCHAT SHRIKE (male) west of Loe Pool at 15.30hrs. From Tye Rocks Car Park walk 200yrds along coastal path towards pool and view field from black gate. Also Honey Buzzard over.
The Lizard - Golden Oriole at Lizard Village in hedge on SW side of green at Henry’s Campsite. Also Whimbrel (3) and Cuckoo at Windmill Farm today (Thanks J.Blyth)
Porthcurno - Golden Oriole (2) male in gardens between St Levan and Minack Theatre and female opposite St Levan Church early afternoon.
