Sunday 24th February 2008 – Cornwall Bird Reports

Todays Birding highlights in Cornwall include:

Tehidy Country Park – **HUME’S LEAF WARBLER** still near pond at back of cafe and showing well at 08.30hrs. Also Firecrest showing well.

Saltash – *CATTLE EGRET* near China Fleet Country Club viewed from 2nd hide towards Landulph Marsh this afternoon. No sign of Richard’s Pipit or Yellow Wagtail at Trevollard Farm today.

Drift – *CATTLE EGRET* (10) still in fields at Treganhoe Farm. Also GLAUCOUS GULL (2w) and ICELAND GULL (juv) on reservoir.

Wadebridge – *CATTLE EGRET* (4) at Hay in cattle fields this morning with Little Egret (5). Also SAND MARTIN (2) at Clapper Marshes.

Newlyn ICELAND GULL (juv) still in Harbour. Plus BN Grebe still

Trevose HeadLAPLAND BUNTING (3 along approach road and 4 in field next to Coastguard Cottages) plus Black Redstart, Brambling (35) and Corn Bunting (50).

Stithians Bittern again at Southern cutoff.

GunwalloeHen Harrier (ringtail) flew over Gunwalloe Marsh at 12.15hrs

MarazionSlav Grebe (2) off Longrock this afternoon

St Ives -  Sand Martin at 09.00hrs flew East at Clodgy point St Ives, also two Black Redstart at Porthmeor beach (Thanks R.James)
