Sunday 18th November 2007 – Cornwall Bird Reports

Todays Birding highlights in Cornwall include:

The Lizard*CATTLE EGRET* at Goonhilly Downs, flew west towards Mullion Holiday camp at 14.10hrs.

Sennen – probable SURF SCOTER flew north past cove at 14.35hrs towards The Brisons. Plus Pom Skua (2) and Bonxie (6)

PorthpeanLittle Auk (1), GN Diver (3), BT Diver (4) in St Austell Bay

Marazion – No sign of Penduline Tit by 13.00hrs but YB Warbler, Great Spotted Wodpecker (3) and Green Sandpiper over. Bittern seen in flight briefly

Hayle EstuaryRed-breasted Merganser (3) in Carnsew Basin at 11.00hrs plus Med Gull (ad) and Med Gull (ad) at Copperhouse Creek.

Lands End – No sign of American Buff-bellied Pipit at Treviley Farm by 10.45hrs but Lapland Bunting.

PorthgwarraLittle Auk and Bonxie past this morning.

TressillianAvocet (2) along River at 13.30hrs. (thanks J&F Rice)
