Todays Birding highlights in Cornwall include:
Stithians Reservoir - **FRANKLIN’S GULL** (ad.sum) reported flying over reservoir west at 11.00hrs (Thanks D.eva and D.Jenkins)
The Lizard - *CATTLE EGRET* in ploughed field NW of National Trust car-park at Lizard Point at 20.10hrs. (Thanks S.Taylor)
Lands End - SHORT-TOED LARK singing in car-park early morning then flew in direction of Trevilley and appeared to land. Also Turtle Dove (7+). EUROPEAN BEE-EATER flew over Treeve Common at midday. Iceland Gull at Sennen again.
Gwithian - TAWNY PIPIT at St Gothian Sands NR this morning. (Thanks M.Rouncefield)
Rame Head - GOLDEN ORIOLE at Watch Field by water trough briefly this morning
Bude - WOODCHAT SHRIKE male 1/4 mile north of Duckpool Valley in scrub opposite first disc of radar station at Cleave at 13.50hrs.
Penryn - Possible Honey Buzzard flew east at 13.00hrs.
Drift - Red Kite flew over Catchall at 12.30hrs.
Hayle Estuary - Bar-tailed Godwit (6), Ruff (1) and Whimbrel (1) on main estuary (Thanks P.Jeggo)
Newlyn - Iceland Gull (juv) in harbour still
Gwithian - Common Sandpiper, Wheatear (3), and Whimbrel. No sign of Wood Sandpiper (Thanks D.Jenkins et al)
