Todays Birding highlights in Cornwall include:
Newquay – *CATTLE EGRET* (7) still near Trennistick Farm in fields east of Crantock Plains Touring Park tho mobile
Drift - *CATTLE EGRET* (3) still at Treganhoe Farm
Hayle Estuary – GREEN-WINGED TEAL still in main channel, plus Avocet and Med Gull (ad)
Stithians Reservoir - Bittern at Stithians reservoir at 11.00 and 11.30 this morning. From road at southern end look into marsh area (left of main water), where 2 posts are in an area of water, and bird seen behind them, firstly to right (apparently trying and eventually succeeding in swallowing a frog), and later to the left. Showing very well in front of scrubby trees behind (thans Dr JK Lander)
Newlyn – Black-necked Grebe (3) in Harbour plus one in Sandy Cove. Plus GN Diver
No sign today or yesterday of Humes Warbler at Cot Valley.
