Yesterday at St. Levan, I saw a bird mixed with a flock of chaffinches,in grass so that only the head and part of the breast was exposed. I thought at first it was a thrush until I got the binoculars on it. It looked like a European starling except that it had a prominent black eye flash and a more pink violet colour on the breast. It’s habit and stance were starling like. It does not look like the pink starling in my bird book. Does any one have an idea of what I may have seen. Grid reference SW374236.
