Saturday 15th March 2008 – Cornwall Bird Reports

Todays birding highlights in Cornwall include:

Newquay – *ALPINE SWIFT*  at East Pentire, this afternoon, above car park at end of Pentire Avenue. Seen for ten minutes sometimes at quite low levels as it moved around the area. Last seen at 3.30 pm. (Thanks Alan Payne)

Tehidy CP – **HUMES LEAF WARBLER** still in scrub at back of cafe. Also Firecrest.

Drift – *CATTLE EGRET* (16) still in fields at Treganhoe Farm. Also Sand Martin (120+) at reservoir.

Stithians – *CATTLE EGRET* still at Golden Lion cutoff and House Martin (3). Bittern again on southern cutoff showing well close to road and Sand Martin (100+) (Thanks Team Post, S.Taylor and P.Gay)

NanquidnoWheatear in valley.

PendeenSwallow reported past Pendeen watch.

ICELAND GULLS reported today from Drift, The Lizard, Newlyn and Nanquidno valley.
