Monday 8th September 2008 – Cornwall Bird Reports

Todays Birding highlights in Cornwall include:

Hayle EstuaryBar-tailed Godwit (2), Black-tailed Godwit (6), Whimbrel (1), Common Sandpiper, Knot (2), Med Gull (1w) and Peregrine. Also group of waders comprising of Little Stint, Curlew Sandpiper (2), Ruff, Knot, Dunlin (5) and Sanderling (2) flew off SE together (Thanks J.H.Johns).

Sennen Dotterel NE of school between A30 and Trevorian Pool in ploughed field by minor road to Trevorian. Also Med Gull (6) in Cove.

Lands End possible Buff-breasted Sandpiper flew north from Swingates House this morning but no further sightings.

Nanjizal Dotterel flew SW over valley this morning

PorthgwarraMELODIOUS WARBLER still in sixty foot cover today. Also CORNCRAKE flew from dried up Pool and Crossbill (8) over.
