Todays Birdwatching highlights in Cornwall include:
Hayle Estuary - SPOONBILL (juv) until 15.20hrs. Red-breasted Merganser (fem) in main channel at high tide, Little Tern (5), Common Tern (3), Little Egret (8), Common Sandpiper (5+), Med Gull (Ad, 2nd Sum and Juvs). (P.Freestone) Also Curlew Sandpiper reported this morning on Carnsew Pool and Crossbill over late afternoon (J.Hanlon)
Padstow - Med Gull (27) in ploughed field behind dunes at Tregirls beach. Also Med Gull (6) and Sandwich Tern (16) off Padstow (Thanks D.Julian)
Gwithian - Wood Sandpiper still at St Gothian Sands this morning (Thanks C.Yates)
Wadebridge - Scaup (eclipse drk) still at Walmsley Sanctuary
Penzance - Med Gull (ad, 2x 2s and 9 juvs) between Eastern Green beach and Marazion this afternoon.
Stithians Reservoir - Little Egret (1), Little Ringed Plover (1), Ringed Plover (1), Lapwing (1), Common Sandpiper (5), Snipe (1), Shoveler (6), Teal (4), Greenshank (1) and Little Grebe (11) (Thanks S.Taylor and D.Eva)
Falmouth - Med Gull (6) at west end of Gyllinvase Beach this afternoon.
