Monday 18th February 2008 - Cornwall Bird Reports

Todays Birding highlights in Cornwall include:

The HUME’S LEAF WARBLERS were again at Cot Valley and Tehidy Country Park. CATTLE EGRETS were reported from Drift (10+). ICELAND GULLS (3) were still at Newlyn harbour and the Avocet was again on the estuary at Hayle. The RICHARDS PIPIT remained with the Yellow Wagtail at Trevollard Farm, Saltash.

Stithians Reservoir - *CATTLE EGRET* still from Golden Lion cutoff (thanks S.Clarke) Also RING-BILLED GULL (2w) again in cattle field east of minor road north of Polmarth.

Sancreed - GLAUCOUS GULL (2w) in fields NE of Sancreed again probably same bird reported at Drift Reservoir this morning

Helston - YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER still between Sewage works and Loe Pool at Lower Nansloe Farm. Also LT Duck, Firecrest and Goosander (2). 

Trevose Head - LAPLAND BUNTING(3), Brambling (20+) and Corn Bunting (40+)

Saltash - R.B.Merganser (2), Avocet (4), Little Egret (1), Wigeon (90), Teal (35), Shelduck (23), Lapwing (75), Curlew (42) and Redshank (12).(Thanks J.Batey)

Gwithian - Water Pipit still at St Gothian Sands NR. Also Med Gull (ad)
