Friday 2nd November 2007 - Cornwall Bird Reports

Todays Birding highlights in Cornwall include:

Lands End - ***MEGA*** AMERICAN BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT*** half a mile east of Lands End, south of B3315 at Trevescan in horse paddock just west of Lawn Cottage. Flew off with Meadow Pipits at 12.45hrs. No further news since then. Bird probably present since yesterday.  SW.359.249.

Torpoint - Med Gull (9), Brent Goose (1) (thanks C.Buckland)

Sennen Cove - Pom Skua (juv), Bonxie (2) Med Gull (3 ads, 4 2w, 2 1w) late afternoon

Porthcurno - *DUSKY WARBLER* still in scrub south of Car Park and probable DESERT LESSER WHITETHROAT at same location.

Nanquidno - Turtle Dove in Valley (Let’s hope it was checked properly!!)

Falmouth - Firecrest (3) in lane behind Swanpool.

Helston - Black-necked Grebe at Loe Pool at west end of Carminowe Creek at 15.00hrs.
