Todays Birding highlights in Cornwall include:
Camelford – BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER (2) still at Davidstow airfield, but no sign of Pec Sands.
Wadebridge - HONEY BUZZARD (dk phase) over town at 1730hrs. (Thanks D.Julian) Curlew Sandpiper (3) at Walmsley Sanctuary this morning
Newquay - HONEY BUZZARD (pale phase) flew over Hospital at 14.00hrs towards Porth Joke. OSPREY over Porth Reservoir, showing ring on left leg, (per C.Selway)
The Lizard – WRYNECK still at Chuch Cove at 17.00hrs. Also HONEY BUZZARD (2) over Lizard Point and Common Buzzard (50). Eider (fem) outside harbour all afternoon and Pale-bellied Brent geese (8) on beach at Coverack (Thanks B.Hawker)
Helston – RED-BACKED SHRIKE (juv) still at The Loe on east side of Carminowe Creek at 1730hrs.
Cot Valley – TAWNY PIPIT at east end of valley in 2nd cleared field east of Cot Mill.
Polgigga - ORTOLAN BUNTING flew south over Higher Bosistow Farm late morning.
Hayle Estuary – Curlew Sandpiper (1), Knot (4), Black-tailed Godwit (1), Bar-tailed Godwit (c10), Ruff (1), Pink footed Goose and Little Egret (15). Also Common Tern (juv) on Ryans Field this morning. (P.Freestone and M.Halliday)
Marazion - Little Stint (2) on marazion beach at 1900hrs
Crowdy Reservoir – Scaup (ecl.drk) still from hide at 12.55hrs.
Nanjizal - No sign of Western Bonellis Warbler in valley this morning (Thanks K.Wilson)
Looe – Great Northern Diver (ad) in Looe River opposite fish quay (Thanks D.Spooner)
Tamar River - OSPREY yesterday fishing on the river Tamar. Watched from the Plymouth side where it took a fish and flew to the Cornwall side between Landulph and Carkeel. (Thanks R.McCarthy)
