PHOTO OF THE MONTH – January 2009
Welcome to a new feature on Cornwall Birding, no prizes, just for fun and a bit of prestige for contributors to the site. This months winner is Lisa Williams’ Grey Phalarope, taken at Marazion on 17th January ’09. There were five individuals in Mounts Bay on this day but this one was extremely obliging, feeding close along the tideline at the Red River Mouth. Incredibly this was Lisa’s first attempt at digital photography! Congratulations Lisa, great shot!
Close runners up, in 2nd place was John Johns’ Great Northern Diver in Newlyn Harbour and 3rd place to Bob Sharples’ Bittern at Marazion.
