Hayle Ecolodge ‘on hold’

Work to take down the old forecourt structures at the causeway Hayle has been halted due to nesting Swallows! Police were called by a concerned member of the public who could see the distressed birds flying and calling around a workman with an angle-grinder who was near to their nest. Workman were told to down tools and work has been suspended until the Swallows have finished nesting.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if the whole ‘eco’ project didn’t come to fruition due to costs incurred in waiting for the swallows to fledge!
Saying this, I do look forward to seeing the new ‘lodge’ and the effect it has on birding in Cornwall.
