Work Begins on Hayle Eco-lodge

Architects based in Plymouth have begun design drawings for the proposed Birdwatchers Eco-lodge on the causeway overlooking the Hayle estuary. The Lodge is a 30 bedroom hotel with associated cafe and restaurant and visitor centre. It is hoped that work will begin towards the end of 2009 with visitors signing in by the end of next year. Each of the Lodges rooms take advantage of the panoramic views of the Estuary with a private balcony each with binoculars, telescopes and interpretation charts! The building also incorporates a public viewing deck and birdwatching hide. Click on the link below to see plans and computer generated images of how it will look.

Wow, this is a bit different! Sounds like a great idea for bringing a few more birders down to the area.
Just hope it doesn’t spoil the local environment and town.
Can’t work out exactly where it is though, on the ryan’s field side of the A road?
    Thanks.
