Tuesday 25th September 2007 – Scilly Bird Reports

Todays Birding highlights on the Isles of Scilly include:

No sign of Spotted Sandpiper on Porth Hellick Pool or Citrine Wagtail on Tresco by midday at least today.

St Mary’sBuff-breasted Sandpiper flew east over the Garrison at 08.25hrs then at 19.35hrs on airfield between windsock and terminal.  Osprey still Porth Hellick Pool, flew NE at 08.35hrs and at various other sites through the day. Barred Warbler at Carn Friars Farm buildings in elder, right of garage with white van. Viewed only from road by Pines near Linnon Farm. Little Stint (4 juvs) on Porth Hellick beach briefly at 09.50hrs. Oh and an AMERICAN BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT………

St AgnesBuff-breasted Sandpiper flew over Wingletang Down towards Castella Down at 1505hrs. Wryneck on Wingletang down this morning

TrescoSabines Gull (juv) flew past Piper’s Hole at 12.50hrs plus Sooty Sh’water and Manx Sh’water (16). Long-eared Owl by Pool Road 50yrds SE of David Hunt Hide and showing well.
