Tuesday 16th September 2008 – Isles of Scilly Bird Reports

Todays Birding highlights on the Isles of Scilly include:

St Mary’s HUDSONIAN WHIMBREL (juv) again at Porthloo then seen flying past Carn Morval at 1800hrs. Also Whimbrel (2). *CITRINE WAGTAIL* still on beach at Porthloo at 1610hrs with Little Gull and Curlew Sandpiper (2). OSPREYover Hugh Town at 1535hrs. RED-BACKED SHRIKE reported near wall on south side of The Garrison. BARRED WARBLER at Old Town end of Lower Moors in hedge by field with Standing Stones. ICTERINE WARBLER reported at Newford Duckpond mid morning. Crossbill (16) and Siskin (50) over Longstones this morning.

St AgnesHONEY BUZZARD flew towards Gugh at 1610hrs and OSPREY flew SW. PECTORAL SANDPIPER still on beach at Porth Coose this morning. COMMON ROSEFINCH in garden at Gugh yesterday.
