Todays Birding highlights from the Isles of Scilly include:
St Mary’s – Ring-necked Duck (1st wint) on Porthloo Duckpond and showed well (not suprisingly as the pond is literally by the roadside and about 30ftx15ft wide!!) until flying off mid afternoon. Ring Ouzel at Peninnis Head. Pied Fly, Firecrest and Hobby (flew over) Higher Moors and probable Icterine Warbler on track from road to Holy Vale. Woodchat Shrike (juv) at east end of Pelistry Lane, flew to roost at 18.55hrs.
St Agnes – YB Warbler and Red-breasted Fly in the Parsonage and Lapland Bunt at Wingletang down tho mobile.
Tresco - Pec. Sandpiper still with Greenshank and Jack Snipe at NW end of Great Pool. Richards Pipit in fields between Church and Back Lane. YB Warbler near the Church at Rose Cottage.
