Thursday 20th September 2007 – Scilly Bird Report

Todays Birding highlights on the Isles of Scilly include:

St Mary’s – yesterdays Pectoral Sandpiper was unfortunately taken by a Peregrine in the evening! SPOTTED SANDPIPER managed to survive and showing well today still on Porth Hellick Pool. Buff-breasted Sandpiper again on Golf Course at 12.30hrs. Pectoral Sandpiper (juv) in Poth Hellick Bay at 17.00hrs. (another or did it escape!?)

TrescoCITRINE WAGTAIL (1st wint) still in Horse paddock by Abbey Drive. Pintail (fem) on Great Pool.

St AgnesOrtolan Bunting on east side of Wingletang Down at 15.15hrs. Common Rosefinch reported near Gugh Bar but no sign at 15.30.
