On This Day in History – 2nd May

A Subalpine Warbler was at Nanjizal in 1994 and a Red-rumped Swallow was at Lands End in 2002. No less a rarity in Cornwall was the Stone Curlew on the Lizard in 1997…. But bird of the day has to be the singing male WHITE THROATED SPARROW in 2010, present in a private garden near Boscastle for 2 days. Images in 2010 rarity gallery. First record for Cornwall
