On This Day in History – 26th September

Four American Wigeon were at Skewjack in 1981 and the same site held two Blue-winged Teal in 1986 that stayed until 16th October. An American Golden Plover was at Stithians Resevoir in 1975.  The rare waders continued with Baird’s Sandpiper at Siblyback Reservoir in 1984, Long-billed Dowitcher at Crows-an-wra in 1990, and Upland Sandpiper at The Lizard in 1982. A Lesser Yellowlegs was at Wadebridge in 1981 and remained until 11th October.
