On This Day in History - 24th October
Stithians had both White-rumped and Baird’s Sandpiper on this date in 1989. A Red-rumped Swallow was at Cot Valley in 1988 and there were three birds at Gwithian on the same day. Porthgwarra held a Little Bunting in 2004 and a Dusky Warbler in 1996, the latter bird remaining into the 25th. This date will remain synonymous with the 1999 Booted Eagle in the Drift area, eventually placed in Catagory D of the British List.
