On This Day in History – 23rd October

A Blue-winged Teal was at Marazion in 1978 and two American Golden Plovers were at Crows-an-wra in 1971. A Lesser Yellowlegs was at the Gannel Estuary in 1982 and a Boneparte’s Gull was at Newlyn in 1967 and Cot Valley held a Grey-cheeked Thrush in 1986. The one that got away came in the form of a Common Yellowthroat (1w fem) found dead after flying into a window at Tremough Campus in 2006.
