On This Day in History – 20th September

Today will be remembered for the YELLOW THROATED VIREO at Kenidjack in 1990. This bird was the first record for the Western Palearctic and remained in the area until 27th. Elsewhere, Baird’s Sandpipers were at Predennack in 1980 and Marazion in 1983. A Rose-coloured Starling was at Sennen in 1992 and further north a Black Stork was seen at Wendron in 1988. Staying in the north of the county, an American Golden Plover was at Davidstow Airfield in 1981 and a Semipalmated Sandpiper was at Bude in 1993 until 26th.
