On This Day in History – 15th October

An Alpine Swift was over Stithians in 1993. Land’s End had an Olive-backed Pipit in 1991 and a Penduline Tit in 2003. Red-eyed Vireos were at Pendeen in 1995 and at Cot Valley in 2000. There was a Subalpine warbler at Polgigga and Loe Pool had a Lesser Scaup in 1999. The bird eventually moved to Drift Reservior in March 2000. A Dusky Warbler was at Treen in 2000. Best by far was the NORTHERN ORIOLE at Porthgwarra in 1966 (which was a good year for sport too!)
