On This Day in History – 14th September

A Western Bonelli’s Warbler at Marazion in 1958 was the first record for the county.  At Stithians Reservoir there was a Blue-winged Teal present until 23rd October 1988 and at the same location in 1976 an American Golden Plover stayed for two days. A Baird’s Sandpiper was at the Camel Estuary in 1983. An Olivaceous Warbler at Porthgwarra in 1968 was later (1994) rejected by the Rarities Committee and therefore has still to be recorded in the County.
