On This Day in History - 13th and 14th August

13th - It all about rare seabirds in August! Porthgwarra produced a Little Shearwater in 1999 and a Wilson’s Petrel in 2002. Yelkouan Shearwaters past St Ives and Pendeen on this date in 2008.

14th - A Hawk Owl at Gurnard’s Head in 1966 was the first and only county record of this species. A Black-winged Stilt was at Saltash in 1979 and an Aquatic Warbler was at Marazion in 2002.
