CORNISH CHOUGHS ON FILM

Cornwall Birding has been given kind permission to bring you a short film by Peter McMurdie on our very own Cornish Choughs. The BBC had the original footage for their Springwatch programme, but unfortunately it didn’t get broadcast. That being the case Peter decided to make the film himself and it is shown HERE on his website. Many thanks to Peter for sharing this with everyone in Cornwall.

Excellent short film, must have taken a lot of hard work to get such footage.

Thanks to Mr. McMurdie for his generosity and thanks to Paul for obtaining it.

Thank you for your kind comments Mr. Johns.

The film was shot over the Easter weekend and another Sunday trip down from Looe where I live a couple of weeks after.

I haven’t really done the whole story justice due to time constraints. As I’m sure you know there is a real human element to this story - all the hard work and commitment from volunteers and the various organisations have enabled the Choughs to flourish. Without those people the Chough probably wouldn’t be here. So I would like to say a big thank you to all of those people who have worked so hard and given up their time.

Perhaps next year a longer documentary will be possible that could include the relevant people and organisations.

Many Thanks
Peter
