PorthgwarraBalearic Shearwater (8), Manx Shearwater (242), Storm Petrel and Med Gull (ad) past Gwennap Head this morning.

Newquay Pelagic

South West Optics’ Steve Rogers organised another North Cornwall pelagic today, this time from Newquay and on a faster boat (with toilets!), the Atlantic Diver. At 30 knots the boat soon powered to 20 miles NNW of Newquay. No Wilsons this time but great views of Balearic Shearwater, Sooty Shearwater (2), Storm Petrel (80), Arctic Tern, Arctic Skua and Great Skua and large numbers of migrating Common Terns. The sea conditions were  much calmer this time so we look forward to Steves photos appearing on his blog soon.

Porthgwarra - possible *YELKOUAN SHEARWATER* flew west past Gwennap head at 12.07hrs. Also Balearic Shearwater (15), Sooty Shearwater (4), Storm Petrel (22), Arctic Skua, Great Skua (3), Manx Shearwater (615) and Puffin (4)

The LizardCory’s Shearwater sat on sea 500yrds off Lizard Point. Also Storm Petrel flew east. (Thanks I.Maclean)

Porthgwarra**BLACK-BROWED ALBATROSS** (imm) reported again about a mile offshore. Balearic Shearwater (11), Sooty Shearwater (4), Storm Petrel (33), Puffin (7), Great Skua (3) and Manx Shearwater (489) past Gwennap Head today.

At Sea - *WILSON’S STORM-PETREL* (5) from boat 20 miles NNW of Padstow. Also European Storm Petrel (100+) and Common Dolphin (20)

Porthgwarra - *WILSON’S STORM-PETREL* (2) off Gwennap Head this morning. Also possible *YELKOUAN SHEARWATER*, Balearic Shearwater (12), European Storm Petrel (17), Great Skua (2), Puffin (18), Sooty Shearwater (3), Manx Shearwater (296) and Med Gull (3).

Pendeen - Balearic Shearwater (11), Sooty Shearwater (4), Arctic Skua (4), Storm Petrel (10) past 08.30 – 17.30hrs. Also possible Killer Whale (2).

SennenBalearic Shearwater flew past cove this morning. Also Med Gull (4).
