Lands EndBalearic Shearwater (4) and Sooty Shearwater (12) flew past Lands End

MarazionGarganey still at Long Rock Pool

SennenRoseate Tern still in cove on Cowloe

Monday 28th August 2017 Cornwall Bird Sightings

Lands End – possible Melodious Warbler again in flight near bushes by car park. Sabine’s Gull (2. ad+juv) offshore at 1155hrs. Balearic Shearwater (3) flew past between 0715-0900hrs. Sooty Shearwater (60+) flew past this morning. Also Minke Whale (2)

Scillonian CrossingWilson’s Petrel at sea from Scillonian III. Also Storm Petrel (50+), Great Shearwater, Cory’s Shearwater, Sooty Shearwater (2), Balearic Shearwater and Arctic Skua (3)

Crackington HavenOsprey (2) flew over St Gennys at 1300hrs

The LizardOsprey (2) flew over Kennack Sands between 1340-1400hrs then flew east and lost to view (Thanks F.Trewin).

St JustOsprey flew NE over at 1115hrs. Tree Pipit (7) between Cot Valley and Nanquidno.

Sunday 27th August 2017 Cornwall Bird Sightings

Lands EndMelodious Warbler and Barred Warbler in bushes by car park this morning. Great Shearwater (2), Sooty Shearwater (10+), Balearic Shearwater (6+), Storm Petrel and Great Skua flew past Lands End between 0830-1230hrs. Also Minke Whale. Tree Pipit (15) on wires

St LevanDotterel flew south over Raftra at 1655hrs appeared to land in fields above St Levan Church. Also Pied Flycatcher, Yellow Wagtail (15), Whinchat (2) and Tree Pipit (32)

MarazionArctic Skua chasing Common tern offshore.

Mounts BayRoseate Tern (ad) in Mounts Bay. Also Eider and Balearic Shearwater

Saturday 26th August 2017 Cornwall Bird Sightings

NanjizalBlyth’s Reed Warbler and Melodious Warbler trapped and ringed at Nanjizal valley. Ortolan Bunting also at Nanjizal Valley and Tree Pipit (26flew from field. Please keep to public rights of way (Thanks K.Wilson)

The Lizard – Honey Buzzard (dark phase) drifted east over Caethillian with Common Buzzard (30). Pied Flycatcher at Church Cove. No sign of Melodious Warbler at The Lizard at Pistil Meadow NT

Friday 25th August 2017 Cornwall Bird Sightings

PorthgwarraOrtolan Bunting (ad male) on boulder at seaward end of wall across moor then flew east at 0940hrs. Great or Cory’s Shearwater (2), Balearic Shearwater (6) and Sooty Shearwater (41)flew past between 0645-0845hrs

NanjizalBluethroat (1w. male) at Nanjizal Valley trapped and ringed. Keep to public rights of way

MillbrookGreenish Warbler still near St Andrew’s Street junction at 1326hrs tho elusive

WadebridgeGlossy Ibis (7),  Cattle Egret (7) and Wood Sandpiper still at Walmsley Sanctuary
