Sunday 11th May 2008 - Isles of Scilly Bird Reports
Todays Birding highlights on the Isles of Scilly include:
St Mary’s - WRYNECK at Telegraph late afternoon. WOODCHAT SHRIKE on stone wall at end of lane on Penninis Head at 11.45hrs and SHORT-TOED LARK in ploughed field SW of millstone.
St Agnes - EUROPEAN BEE-EATER on woodpile on west side of lighthouse at 18.15hrs tho elusive.

On This Day in History - 11th May
Little Bitterns were at Sithney in 1964 and Bude in 1958 and a Squacco Heron was at Drift Resrvoir in 1994. A Long-billed Dowitcher was on the Estuary at Hayle in 1970 but by far the best rarity found on this date was the NORTHERN ORIOLE at Bodmin Moor in 1968.
