Todays Birding highlights in Cornwall include:
Gorran Haven - *SUBALPINE WARBLER* singing at 0800 this morning in scrub on hillside above coast path south of village very active tho skulking, also Red Throated Diver and Balearic Shearwater offshore. (Thanks D.Payne)
Sennen - Golden Oriole by Trinity Cottages at 07.50hrs then flew south. Also Iceland Gull.

Todays Birding highlights on the Isles of Scilly include:
St Martins - EUROPEAN BEE-EATER (3) at Middle Town then flew towards Tresco.
Tresco - EUROPEAN BEE-EATER (2) at north end of Borough Farm briefly at 08.30hrs. Also Golden Oriole (male) and Grasshopper warbler.

On This Day in History - 2nd May
A Subalpine Warbler was at Nanjizal in 1994 and a Red-rumped Swallow was at Lands End in 2002. No less a rarity in Cornwall was the Stone Curlew on the Lizard in 1997.
