Tuesday 19th February 2008 - Cornwall Bird Reports
The Hume’s Leaf Warblers were reported again from Cot Valley and Tehidy. Cattle Egrets were again at Drift and Iceland Gulls were still in Newyn Harbour. The Yellow-browed Warbler remained at Helston and the LT Duck was still there also. The Avocet and Water Pipit were at Hayle and Gwithian still. Elsewhere;

On This Day in History - 19th February
Two WHITE-BILLED DIVERS recorded on thid date. The first at Sennen in 1985 and the other at Carlyon Bay in 1998. The latter bird was probably the same individual seen at Porthpean from 6th April to 2nd June ‘98.

Todays Birding highlights in Cornwall include:
The HUME’S LEAF WARBLERS were again at Cot Valley and Tehidy Country Park. CATTLE EGRETS were reported from Drift (10+). ICELAND GULLS (3) were still at Newlyn harbour and the Avocet was again on the estuary at Hayle. The RICHARDS PIPIT remained with the Yellow Wagtail at Trevollard Farm, Saltash.
