On This Day in History - September 24th
A Wilson’s Petrel was off St Ives Island (ironically, see todays bird reports!) in 1995 and a Black Kite was at Porthgwarra in 1983. A Black and White Warbler at Church Cove on the Lizard in 1983 was only the second record and first ‘alive’ bird for the county.

On This Day in History - 23rd September
An American Golden Plover was at Stithians in 1981, remaining until 12th October. A Bonelli’s Warbler was at Lands End in 1993 and Stithians Reservoir held eight Red-crested Pochards in 1998 that remained until 15th October.

RSPB Event - High Tide at Ryans Field 26/09/07
The RSPB have an event at the Eric Grace Memorial Hide, Ryan’s Field on Wednesday 26th September between 5pm and 7pm. This is on the spring tide and the sluice gate will be closed to prevent the creak over spilling onto the road, leaving the field as the only dry ground for waders to roost. [...]

Blue-winged Teals were at Upper Tamar Lake (2) in 1987 and Crowan Reservoir in 1987. In the same year an Alpine Swift was at Tintagel. A Baird’s Sandpiper was recorded at Davidstow Airfield in 1980 and remained until October 1st. Davidstow also produced a Rose-coloured Starling on this date in 1986.
